presidential fact #23

Chet Arthur was the subject of the first birther controversy. He was born in Vermont, only miles from the Canadian border. His maternal grandparents lived in Canada, and some claimed that he was born while his mother was at their house rather than her own.

  1. Hi Janet
Just found your blog via a friend - I am working on the same project, albeit behind you (wallowing in van Buren at the moment). I keep a spreadsheet of book options for each president - happy to share but I couldn't find contact info for you!
